Abundance is a large quantity of something, and God gives a lot of blessings to people.

God’s Provision

John 10:10: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Unlike ungodly leaders, who take care of people for selfish purposes, Jesus Christ provides eternal and abundant life to his people. This life is primarily comprised of salvation from the lake of fire, eternity in the new heavens and new earth, and spiritual blessings (e.g. the fruit of the spirit).

Ephesians 1:7: In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

God, who is abundant in grace, forgives and redeems repentant sinners of their sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. This allows Christians to do good works for him.

Mankind’s Provision

Proverbs 19:17: He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

People who give to the poor with kindness give to God, who will reward them for their charity. This displays gratitude for Jesus Christ, who is rich, but became poor to make people rich (2 Corinthians 8:9).

2 Corinthians 9:7: Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

God wants people to joyfully and willingly give as they are able. God is pleased with people giving good gifts to others freely, as God has freely given people good gifts.

Trust in God

Matthew 6:25-34: Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
